I am a certified planner offering a broad range of planning and design services to support local governments, businesses, and non-profit organizations. I prepare plans, studies, surveys, and maps to help my clients understand the conditions of their community and enable them to make more informed decisions about their future. I work closely with them to identify challenges or opportunities, find forward-thinking solutions, set meaningful and measurable goals, and develop programs, policies, and projects to serve their customers more efficiently and effectively. I also have a passion for partnership building and community engagement. I look forward to helping your organization prepare for the future and connect with the people you serve.

Selected Projects

 

Fort Worth Area

Tri-County Trails Partnership

Organized and hosted a series of workshops with planning, parks, and engineering staff from 15 cities within Tarrant, Denton, and Dallas Counties, along with the DFW Airport and the North Central Texas Council of Governments. Formed a partnership to improve bicycle and pedestrian connections extending across city borders and align our planning documents to provide a cohesive system of trails and sidewalks. 

Bastrop, LA

Land Use Plan & Zoning development code

Prepared the city’s first master land use plan and zoning development code. Successfully carried both through the public hearing and adoption process. Coordinated closely with city staff and community leaders. Held a series of community meetings. Conducted a city-wide land use survey. Prepared current and future land use maps. Designated context areas and zoning districts adapted from the Louisiana Land Use Toolkit. Established and trained the city’s first planning and zoning commission and board of adjustment. 

 

 

Southlake, TX

Employee Engagement Survey

Partnered with Southlake’s City Manager’s Office and Human Resources department to prepare, promote, and conduct employee engagement surveys using Gallup’s Q12. Hosted a series of listening sessions with employees to hear their experiences working for the city. Facilitated conversations with leadership about the value of employee engagement. Provided individualized coaching for department directors. Prepared customized reports of survey results with recommendations for improving employee engagement throughout the organization. 

Bienville Parish, LA

Solid Waste Study

The Bienville Parish Solid Waste Study assessed the solid waste program's existing level of service and determined potential for improving services to residents and businesses. The project involved interviews and mediation among various stakeholders throughout the parish to find solutions that would serve all residents and businesses equitably. Recommendations included new program options for recycling, handling of yard waste, and hazardous waste management for rural communities in Bienville Parish.

 

 

Southlake, TX

Community Engagement Committee

Established the City of Southlake’s Community Engagement Committee and served as its initial liaison, guiding the committee and staff through the creation of a communication plan, a community engagement strategy, and annual report. 

Shreveport, LA

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy

As part of a team of consultants, prepared the report for the City of Shreveport’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE). Organized and helped facilitate a steering committee of local business owners and community members, guiding them through a series of meetings to develop, evaluate, and select projects that would achieve $16 million in annual energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 158,965 metric tons, and create 307 jobs. Ensured the strategy and projects selected met all requirements of the $1,977,900 Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant.
